| Fuzzy Search |
|
| The fuzzy search mechanism enables the iq-engine to link together similar information and display the results to the user. The more information the search query contains, the more accurate the number of relevant hits returned. The iq-engine uses fuzzy logic to locate precisely those hits that match the search query. |

| Error Tolerance |
|
| The iq-engine uses associative pattern search technology that is fast, "fuzzy and error tolerant. It compiles search data from several sources, such as metadata (book titles and authors) and full text data (excerpts taken directly from books), creating a search pattern and comparing it with all other patterns in the database. For instance, if a particular book title is sought from a large digital collection of books and articles, but only a rough idea of the authors name and key words in the book title are known, the caatoosee iq-engine is still capable of producing the right search result by choosing the highest percentage match.Associative pattern search technology allows several levels of error tolerance to be defined. Users are able to adjust the variables by applying fuzzy options and customizing the error tolerance of the iq-engine at any time to suit their own needs. This means that the level of error tolerance optimally controls the search query. |

| Associative Pattern Matching |
|
| After indexing the data, users can generate as many queries as they wish. The data entered in the search section is also indexed as a single pattern and compared with the patterns in the associative memory. And the system does not confine itself to returning 100% pattern matches. iq-server assimilates associated patterns and lists them as results of the search query. The results are ranked according to the degree of similarity. The user can specify the desired degree of similarity and thus determine the profile of a search query as well as control aspects of personal interest. |

| Indexing |
|
| Computer systems can only find the desired information if it is available to the search engine in appropriate units of data. The search engine first converts the data into a machine-readable format. caatoosee iq-engine.volltext, the indexing and qualifying engine, then converts all relevant data into "characteristic" patterns. |

| Ranking |
|
| caatoosees iq-server ranks all hits according to the degree of similarity specified by the user and displays them in order of priority. Results with exactly the same pattern as the search query are assigned a 100% degree of similarity. Other results are then ranked in descending order of similarity. This gives users an accurate overview of the number of potential matches found, allowing them to adjust any new searches according to the kind of results already generated. |

| caatoosees iq-server manages search results according to similarity measures. This allows users to optimize their searches in various ways.
