London/Leonberg (Germany), October 18, 2002
, a German-based specialist for Information Logistics, has closed a license deal with its first UK customer, the Institute of Directors (IoD), to provide its iq-software for information qualifying in order to better its website search technology. The IoD is a membership organisation with more than 55,000 members, all of whom are senior business leaders and decision-makers representing all industry sectors. The IoD was searching for an information-qualifying search engine for its business site, . Having researched the available products, the IoD opted for the caatoosee iq-technology, as it qualifies information quickly even from unstructured data-sources like websites or PDF-files and is also very scalable. Additionally IoD could use the existing seamless interface with iod.com's Enfinity catalogue system, developed by Brox IT-Solutions.
Using iq-technology, iod.com users will be able to search through more than 1,200 web pages, 500 PDF files and for more than 150 IoD products: courses, events, conferences and publications. In order to achieve fast and qualified results the caatoosee iq-technology indexes the existing structured and unstructured data. Thereby it allows even complicated queries, such as a maximum count of search words in the documents.
Beside information retrieval, caatoosee iq-technology also enables a company to enhance its data quality, e.g. the cleaning of the customer addresses- or product-data. Another field of application is information automation, for instance with e-mails. The contents of incoming e-mails automatically are read and directly forwarded to the person in charge. That way the whole process of e-mail-management is simplified while the response times are shortened.

The IoD (Institute of Directors) is a non-political organisation with upwards of 55,000 members. Membership has increased 50% over the past 5 years, and includes directors from many sectors of the economy from media to manufacturing, e-business to public sector. Members include CEOs of large corporations as well as entrepreneurial directors of start-up companies. The IoD offers a wide range of business services including business centre facilities (including six regional centres), conferences, networking events, issues-led guides and literature as well as information services and free access to a comprehensive business library and enquiry service. It places great emphasis on director development and has established a certified qualification for directors - Chartered Director - as well as running specific board-level and director-level training and individual career mentoring programmes. As well as a these business services, the IoD provides authoritative representation of the interests of business to government and policy makers, and to be a means by which business leaders' experience can be influential in the development of public policy.
