Specialist in information logistics presents latest iq-server and new iq-tools for Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook

Leonberg, 6th February 2002. will be presenting an array of new products for information logistics at this year's CeBIT, one of the world's leading ICT fairs. The main focus will be on Version 3.0 of the caatoosee iq-server as well as the company's new iq-tools for Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook. The new software products are designed specifically to "qualify" information according to a user's requirements, anywhere and at any time. caatoosee will be exhibiting its cutting-edge solutions at the partner stands of IBM (Hall 4, Stand A 04/A 12) and Microsoft (Hall 4, Stand A 38). In addition, will be represented at the stand of Gesellschaft für internationale wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit Baden-Württemberg mbH, a regional agency for economic cooperation (Hall 16, Stand B 42).

iq stands for information qualification

caatoosee's product offering is centred around qualifying and personalizing information. In a nutshell: interrelationships between data can be identified, relevant information can be filtered out of a mass of unwanted clutter, and the "qualified" information can be delivered to the user in the required format. Moreover, the application is able to operate across various systems and databases. The benefits are plain to see: less time wasted on looking for information and thus a faster decision-making process. The high level of so-called error tolerance makes for added user-friendliness.

The new version of iq-server forms the interface between data and users. The pioneering solution for information logistics gathers data from different sources and processes this data in a qualified manner, i.e. in a form that is tailored to the user's personal requirements. Owing to the modular design of this application, iq-server is fully expandable and scalable, e.g. when new data sources are to be integrated.

The newly introduced iq-tools are software products for e-mail programs and groupware applications. caatoosee's iq-tool for Microsoft Outlook qualifies data and information stored in e-mails. Outlook users thus have all the information they need at their fingertips. The iq-tool for Lotus Notes, on the other hand, qualifies information that is stored in e-mails or databases on Lotus Domino. This allows users to filter out information contained within the full range of Lotus Notes applications quickly and effectively. Both iq-tools are equipped with a high level of error tolerance. The software tolerates typing errors, jumbled letters, and incomplete information, both with regard to data entered and stored.

Flexible degrees of similarity for structured and unstructured data

The new software solutions are based on caatoosee iq-engine, technology that allows the efficient management and use of large-scale data assets. Caatoosee's iq-engine is designed to ensure high-speed access to information, even if the data contains errors or is incomplete. In order to do so, iq-engine indexes texts, presentations, and numerical information contained in various data sources, such as websites, databases, documents, or e-mails. The software then creates mathematical patterns for the indexed information. Associative pattern matching shows the degree of similarity between the data. A high degree of similarity indicates a close match. The results are ranked in order of similarity.
